Royal Mail scoop freight titles at 2019 Everywoman in Transport & Logistics Awards

Congratulations to Caitlin Slade, Fleet apprentice technician, Riki Ravat, head of distribution and Kimberley McIntosh, service delivery leader, for their incredible achievements at the 2019 Everywoman in Transport & Logistics Awards.

In May 2019, Caitlin, Riki and Kimberley were among 46 individuals from the UK’s thriving transport and logistics industry announced as finalists for the awards programme:

  • Caitlin Slade: Apprentice of the Year
  • Riki Rivat: Freight - Above and Beyond
  • Kimberley McIntosh - Freight – Leader

Now in its 12th year, the Everywoman in Transport & Logistics Awards champion women in the transport and logistics sector, and recognise industry role models.

This year’s awards programme saw two winners per category - one industry ‘leader’ celebrating a woman with a breadth of experience operating in a senior role within her organisation and making a significant contribution to the strategic direction of the business, and a woman at any stage of their career seen as having truly gone ‘above and beyond’ their role to help drive their organisation’s success.

The awards ceremony took place at Grosvenor House in London on Thursday 13 June, and we are delighted to announce an amazing double win, with both Caitlin and Kimberley winning their respective Apprentice of the Year and Freight Leader categories.

Euan McMurdo, logistics director, said: ‘All three finalists are brilliant examples of the strength in depth that we have at Royal Mail of really talented and dedicated women. We are all really proud of them. Many congratulations.’

Sally Warren, head of Fleet maintenance, said: ‘Congratulations to Caitlin, Riki, and Kimberley for your achievements at the Everywoman Awards. You are brilliant ambassadors for our business.’

Everywoman – the leading expert for the advancement of women in business – has been committed to celebrating the UK’s brightest female talent in the industry using the awards as a platform to applaud their success.

Maxine Benson MBE, co-founder of Everywoman, said: ‘Women account for only 18% of the overall transport and logistics industry, which is a cry for urgent change to be made, considering the value they add. Encouraging women to pursue senior positions is crucial for the growth of the sector.
