Paul O’Keefe, director of quality & customer, held a town hall session at Billingshurst Delivery Office to share updates on the business’s new strategy and the rationale behind it.
The session was attended by more than 20 colleagues, and provided attendees with the opportunity to ask Paul questions on a wide array of different topics.

As well as discussing the new strategy and plans for building a stronger Royal Mail, Paul’s update also covered the challenges currently facing the business and the opportunities we have to continue to grow.
Following Paul’s opening address, he faced questions on subjects such as the impact of the new strategy on working hours and shift patterns, potential new additions to our Tracked product offering and our progress on plans to optimise route planning.
Paul was also able to share insight on the responses of businesses to the changes announced as part of our strategy update, stating that he had received a great deal of positive feedback from businesses keen to take advantage of the new services and enhanced offerings due to be rolled out as part of our five-year strategy.
Following the session, Paul said: ‘It was a really good session and there were lots of really good questions afterwards probing some of the discussion areas a bit deeper. Colleagues in Delivery are going to be key to delivering our strategy, ensuring we deliver every parcel and letter on time and keep our customers delighted.’
Postwoman, Bethany Guile, said: ‘I know that in five years the business will be very different. I’ve only been here two years and it’s already changed quite a lot in that time.’
Postman Ken Peters, said: ‘The progress we’re going to make over the next five years is really positive. We definitely need to change to stay ahead of the competition.’
