From Russia with love

Neil, in Home Counties North Delivery Office, 11 Cumbrian hens and their owner are very grateful for your fantastic support in helping them return a parcel.
Louis, thank you for keeping a smile on your face despite being soaked through, and to Colin in Sale and everyone at Durham Delivery Office, you’re all a ‘credit to the business.’
Below is a small selection of customer praise sent in over the last few days.
Louis Powell (pictured) – Bootle and Seaforth Delivery Office
‘In this day and age, it’s easy for customers to give negative feedback, however, I find it more important to also give positive feedback when you have the pleasure of such excellent service by someone that goes the extra mile. I only know the postman as “Louis” but it is a pleasure to always see his smiling face and extremely pleasant attitude, even when he is soaking wet from our horrid weather. I live in a flat and he always walks the stairs and knocks on the door to deliver my parcel in person - something which he doesn’t have to do as he only needs to ring my bell and I will come down to collect. He is a credit to Royal Mail. Many thanks for your services.’
Colin Richardson – Sale Delivery Office
‘Please will you thank Colin for locating a parcel from Russia containing a watch, which had gone astray in the system and for taking the time to ring me back once he had located it. His assistance is greatly appreciated, and he is an absolute credit to Royal Mail.’
Everyone - Durham Delivery Office
‘I’d like to complement all the postal staff who deliver in Sacriston. They go out of their way with customer service. Nothing is too much trouble for any of them. They are a credit to your business.’
Unknown – Knowle Delivery Office
‘A package containing essential medical supplies (insulin) was not delivered this morning because the allocated safe place was inaccessible (which I didn't realise until later). I called to explain that it was packed in a cool pack and that I wouldn't be able to pick it up today and I would be away from tomorrow until Friday. I was hoping for a redelivery, but the earliest opportunity would have been Thursday, which was too late as the ice pack would have melted by then rendering the insulin unusable. The gent I spoke to at Knowle Delivery Office was so helpful and got a message to the delivery driver asking for them to go back to my house and deliver to another safe place if possible. This was done within a few minutes. That made an impossible situation possible and I'm really grateful. The guy was so polite and proactive and went the extra mile to help. I am also really grateful to the postie for turning around and going back as I'm sure he/she had a very busy round. Fantastic customer service.’
Neil Livings – Home Counties North Delivery Office
‘This gentleman went far over and above to help me return a bulky parcel to Cumbria. Neil spent his time liaising with me, Parcel Heroes and others to get the parcel returned. After being repeatedly let down by UPS (who can learn a thing or two from Royal Mail) and understanding the urgency, Neil stepped in and sorted it out. My 11 hens and myself are so grateful. Please let him know how amazing he is and how grateful we are!’
Unknown – Barnstaple Delivery Office
‘I regularly send little treats and parcels to my grandchildren and am always thrilled to find that they arrive the next day even though I use the standard delivery service so thank you Royal Mail. Cheap, efficient and helps keep my family connected!’
