Lifelong memories

Children’s Hospice Week 17-23 June – Moments that matter

This week’s Children’s Hospice Week, run by UK charity Together for Short Lives, aims to raise awareness and funds for the 49,000 children across the UK living with life-limiting conditions, and the lifeline services that support them.

The theme of Children’s Hospice Week is ‘Moments that Matter’, shining a light on children’s hospice and palliative care services that help families create special memories and important moments in their lives together.

Together for Short Lives business development manager, Beccy Fellows, said: ‘We’re thrilled to have Royal Mail’s support for our Children’s Hospice Week in the form of a postmark.

‘I just wanted to let you know that we’ve received our first letter with your postmark and posted a tweet here.

“We’ve got mail! Have you seen our very special postmark on your letters this week? Our lovely friends at the @RoyalMail have been helping us spread the word about #ChildrensHospiceWeek. Last year, the postmark reached 20 million people.”’

The Children’s Hospice Week campaign got off to a great start thanks to a special message from Her Royal Highness, The Duchess of Cambridge and another from TV presenter, Holly Willougby. Together for Short Lives also hosted a parliamentary reception and held fundraising collections at various London tube stations.

‘There’s lots more to come throughout the week on our Twitter and Facebook pages if you’d like to follow along, please feel free to share and like our content to help us tell as many people as possible about the wonderful and unique work of children's hospices,’ said Beccy.
