Consistently achieving

Quality of Service - Lymington Delivery Office is 'proud to be at the top of the table'

We are disappointed that we missed our annual target for First Class mail in 2018-19. It’s vitally important that we continue working together across the pipeline to drive up quality.

Everyone can help improve quality by focusing on safe and on-time delivery of each and every letter and parcel.

Colleagues at Lymington Delivery Office, one unit which has achieved a significant improvement in their Quality of Service performance, say teamwork, communication and having achievable workloads are all important factors behind their success. Click play on the above RMtv video to find out more.

After previously struggling to achieve their targets, the unit now consistently achieves above 95% first time delivery and above 99% doorstep scanning compliance.

Lymington delivery office manager, Sheldon Braganza, said: ‘Before this turnaround, we were below our target scores for the sector. We’ve invested in workplace coaches who have been training staff on a one-to-one basis with PDA usage and also with tracking and scanning and the importance of tracking and scanning parcels.

‘Our scores now are well over and above our sector’s targets. It gives us great pride to be at the top of the table and we’re going to be working hard in the future to stay on top of the table.

Postwoman and workplace coach, Yvonne Jenkins (pictured), said: ‘We’re very happy. Obviously, we’ve got a fantastic working team here and we’re achieving very good results.

What we can all do:

  • Ensure mail centres and delivery offices are clear of ALL mail, EVERY day
  • Ensure ALL collection mail is cleared and connects EVERY day
  • Ensure ALL mail and vehicles depart on time to arrive on time EVERY day
  • Scan all items across the pipeline

‘We have a “clear-frame” policy and always make sure everything has left the unit by the end of the day,’ added Yvonne. ‘It’s about keeping an eye on barcodes and always making sure everything is scanned.’
