Best ever score

2019 Employee Survey - our engagement score is the highest since the survey began

The results of the 2019 Employee Survey are now available and we are really pleased to report our best scores since the survey began.

More colleagues than ever before are saying they feel engaged and involved.

  • Our employee engagement score was 60, up one point compared to last year, driven by feedback from operational colleagues;
  • Our culture score was 53, in line with last year;
  • Our customer score was 70, also in line with last year.

Play the video above to hear Sally Ashford, chief HR officer, talk about the tremendous improvements we have seen in many operational sites, and how we now want colleagues to focus on what local action plans they can put in place to improve their ways of working.

Scores for motivation, job satisfaction and ‘a sense of personal fulfilment in your role’ have all increased this year, as well as pride in working for Royal Mail. For the first time in many years, we have also seen trust improve, which is really positive.

We are encouraging teams across the business to look at their own results and work together to make improvements that will make a real difference where they work.
