Star fundraiser

Tim crowned ‘Outstanding Employee in a Charity Partnership’ at the Business Charity Awards

Last week, Royal Mail and Action for Children attended the Business Charity Awards, where star fundraiser Tim Hyde from Medway Mail Centre, won the sector award for ‘Outstanding Employee in a Charity Partnership.’

The Business Charity Awards celebrate organisations’ fundraising efforts, share best practice and reward achievements within their local communities.

Royal Mail partnered with Action for Children in June 2017. Since then, Tim has provided an exceptional contribution to the charity, going to extraordinary lengths to raise money and awareness in support of combating mental health issues in young people.

Tim has not only delivered numerous fundraising and awareness activities at Medway Mail Centre, but has travelled far and wide to other offices across the country to meet with colleagues inspire them to keep fundraising for Action for Children’s flagship mental health initiative, the Blues Programme an internationally acclaimed blues-busting course for teenagers aged 13-19.

‘Although I don't do what I do for any reward, to be recognised in this way meant the world to me,’ said Tim.

‘I believe our partnership with Action for Children gives the business a chance to demonstrate its commitment to tackling mental health issues in young people and gives colleagues a better understanding of the issues surrounding mental health that children up and down the country continue to face on a daily basis.

‘I would encourage all colleagues to get involved in our partnership, it really is so rewarding.’

Remember, without your support, the Blues Programme would not be possible. Every penny you raise will be directly invested into the course, making a huge difference to the mental health of young people across the UK.
