‘An amazing gent’

A nurse in Worcester was brought to tears when Tony expressed his gratitude for her service. A customer in Liverpool wants to give a Christmas gift to the ‘amazing gent’ she calls her local postman. And a colleague who was pleasant and conversational made an impression on a group of customers in the queue at Stockton-on-Tees Delivery Office.
Thank you as always to everyone for all your hard work. Your professionalism, courtesy, patience, positivity and ability to simply put a smile on customers’ faces makes all the difference.
Below is a selection of compliments sent in by grateful customers who were impressed with the consistently excellent service so many of you deliver day in day out.
Tony Watton (pictured) – Worcester Delivery Office
‘I had to call in to Worcester Sorting Office to collect a parcel on my way home from work (in uniform). The older postman behind the counter said to me I can see you’re a nurse, can I just say “Thank you for the job you do. You’re all amazing and very much appreciated.” I sat in my car with tears rolling. What a beautiful thing to say out of the blue. If you know this gentleman, please tell him how truly thankful I am to him for his heartfelt comment. In a world of such negativity, this man made a difference, which was very much needed today.’
Rose – Wandsworth Delivery Office
‘Rose delivers our post almost daily. She is absolutely wonderful. She is so friendly and you always see her rushing around. Rose is a credit to Royal Mail and a wonderful employee. Last year when I had a baby and we had lots of parcels that needed signing for or didn’t fit through the letterbox, Rose would give me extra time to get to the door. I believe she has worked for Royal Mail for a long time, she is a credit to the company and a wonderful person! Thank you Rose.’

‘I would like to let you know how professional and friendly my postman is. He is an older gent with glasses and grey hair. I do not know his name unfortunately. He has been my postman for several years now and always has the time to stop and speak to all residents. He is always very professional and polite. This gent is a credit to Royal Mail and represents the company in an amazing manner. I have at times wanted to buy him a gift at Xmas, however, I do not want to get him into any trouble for accepting it. I really hope that this gent receives some form of honour for his friendly and professional service. He always goes above and beyond his call of duty and spends time talking to older residents whom he is aware live alone. He truly is an amazing gent.’

‘The gentleman that served me 9.10am Saturday 4 May had fabulous customer service. Both myself and the customer in front and after me noticed he was consistently pleasant and conversational- well done.’
Nick Martin – Pontypridd Delivery Office
‘Nick is professional and courteous, always smiling and goes the extra mile. I am disabled and he will always knock and if not answered, will call in and personally deliver my parcels. How refreshing to have someone that loves his job - he is an asset to your company and is certainly a great advert for excellent service.’
‘Happy Man’ – Glasgow G51 Delivery Office
‘Our postman is a delight. He is always jolly and wishing us well.’
Steve – Long Eaton Delivery Office
‘Our regular postman Steve (NG10 4GF area) is always ready with a smile and brightens up the day. He’s always positive and cheerful with everyone, a lovely person who I always look forward to seeing at my door.’
