Talk of the Town
Service delivery director - South, Ricky McAulay hosted a Town Hall session at Braintree Delivery Office.
Check out how colleagues – and Ricky himself – felt the session went by playing the above video.
Ricky’s opening presentation provided updates on the business outlook, the latest on the new Collective Defined Contribution (CDC) pension scheme, and how we can compete with other companies in the sector. Ricky also gave an insight into some of the ways in which the business plans to make its processes more efficient and help frontline colleagues.
Ricky answered questions from a number of colleagues who were keen to hear more about subjects ranging from the challenges of becoming a parcels-focused business, the mix of full-time and part-time colleagues and shifting the mentality of the business.
‘It was another really good session, talking about how the business has changed so much and how we finish that transformation, to being a parcels business that still values and delivers all of the letters that we can bring into our network,’ said Ricky.
‘We had some meaningful conversations about what that means for the local workplan, the number of parcels that now arrive, and how that workplan now changes to get the right resource on parcels.’
Among the attendees was postwoman, Teresa Martin, who said: ‘I found the session very informative and interesting, I felt that I learned a lot. I was interested to hear about the future of Royal Mail and how we will deliver parcels in the future.’
A number of further Town Hall sessions are scheduled to take place across the country over the coming weeks as senior leaders share the business’ future strategy with colleagues across the UK. Look out for more updates on these sessions and if there is a session scheduled for your site, please be sure to attend.
