Doctor in the house
Dr Shaun Davis, Global Director of Safety, Health, Wellbeing & Sustainability, hosted a Town Hall session at Maidenhead Delivery Office.
The session, which was attended by more than 40 colleagues, saw Dr Shaun cover a wide range of topics including the future of the business, the challenges we face and the opportunities for growth in a changing environment.
A number of questions were put forward during the session, including queries on job security, the role of senior leaders in sharing key business updates and how changes to the business strategy will affect day-to-day roles and responsibilities.
Speaking after the session, Dr Shaun said: ‘There was an engaged audience asking some good and challenging questions, which is exactly what you want from a session like this. We talked about the organisation as a whole, the challenges we have and the importance of our colleagues.
‘We also talked about the need for us to deliver on our customers’ promises and to help create an environment that we all want to be a part of.’
Andy Roeton, Maidenhead delivery office manager, said: ‘Having Shaun as a senior leader putting the message across was great. He gave a great insight into the business. We spoke about a number of issues including later acceptance times and the need to become more efficient to keep up with our competitors.’
Steven Garnett, Maidenhead postman, enjoyed the session and said: ‘It was nice to have someone come down from head office and hear about the local issues that affect us. We want to hear more about how the wider business issues will affect us locally.’
Martin Evans, Maidenhead postman, concurred: ‘It was interesting to hear about the future of Royal Mail and how we’re performing. I’m keen to hear more about our future, how things are changing and how we’re going to develop.’
Further town hall sessions are due to take place across a number of locations over the coming weeks, providing colleagues with the opportunity to hear directly from senior leaders and ask questions on any subject.
