The April issue

Eyes on the prize – our mailbag is changing and so are we

In your latest issue, which will begin landing at homes from today, we have some exciting developments to share on our trial of barcoded P739s, and we take a look at our changing mailbag.

We’re continuing to innovate and invest in new technology as we trial barcodes on P739 ‘Something for you’ cards – designed to save time for both colleagues and customers.

Postman Michael Braamhar, from Kingston and Surbiton Delivery Office, wrote into Courier last year suggesting that barcodes should be added to the cards. The trial is now underway at three delivery offices, including Michael's unit, as well as Bicester, Oxfordshire and Frodsham, Cheshire.

Also in this issue:

  • It’s back – The 2019 Ops Fundraising Challenge kicks off on Wednesday 1 May, and we can't wait to see all your ideas to raise as much money as possible for Action for Children.
  • The right fit - The contract for our new uniform supplier is up for tender, and colleagues were invited to attend each of our business pitches to tell us what they think.

And finally, postman Gary Townsend, from Home Counties North Delivery Office in Hemel Hempstead, has been giving blood since he was 18 years old. After having just donated his 75th pint of blood, Gary spreads the word on the importance of this life-saving service.
