‘Where there’s a will…’

Euan McMurdo hosted a Town Hall session at Princess Royal Distribution Centre

Logistics director Euan McMurdo hosted a Town Hall session at Princess Royal Distribution Centre (PRDC).

You can find out how both colleagues - and Euan himself – felt the session went by playing the above video.

Around 70 colleagues attended to hear Euan speak about the importance of improving efficiency and productivity across the pipeline and the need for everyone to play their part to ensure we meet our quality targets.

‘Do things right, even the small things make a difference,’ he said. ‘Be effective, accurate, efficient and productive, whatever you do - don’t let our customers down.’

Euan said it was vital for colleagues in Distribution to move to time and scan correctly and for drivers in our vehicle operating centres to keep vehicles well maintained and moving.

Euan stressed how everyone’s ideas are valued, particularly frontline colleagues ‘who are best placed to identify opportunities to improve the way we work.’ He then answered questions from a number of colleagues who were keen to hear more on investment plans for PRDC, including the need for more yorks and machinery.

‘Colleagues were very engaged and insightful with their questions,’ said Euan. ‘They were very interested in the commercial success of the company and how we can grow, while continuing to be productive and efficient.’

Among the attendees was plant manager, Duncan Stephenson, who said: ‘I’m fairly confident. I think, with the right changes, right attitude, right mentality, there’s nothing we can’t take on and achieve.’

A number of further Town Hall sessions are scheduled to take place across the country over the coming weeks as senior leaders share the business’ future strategy with colleagues across the UK. Look out for more updates on these sessions, and if there is a session scheduled for your site, please be sure to attend.
