Royal Mail has issued a publicity shot featuring an enlargement of the newly issued Captain Marvel stamp surrounded by schoolchildren in costume.

Marvel Studios’ Captain Marvel is released in cinemas from Friday 8 March – also International Women’s Day -  and is the highly anticipated film based on the Marvel superhero, Carol Danvers, aka Captain Marvel.

Fans can get their hands on our new Marvel Special Stamps, issued to mark the UK’s celebration of Marvel’s iconic comic stories, when they go on general sale on Thursday 14 March at www.royalmail.com/marvel, from 7,000 Post Office branches across the UK and by calling 03457 641 641.

The 15-stamp set, illustrated by British artist, Alan Davis, features some of the most popular superheroes from the comic books including, Spider-Man; Hulk; Thor; Iron Man; Doctor Strange; Captain Marvel; Peggy Carter; Black Panther; Captain Britain, and Union Jack.
