Eat, sleep, game, repeat

ISLM operator, Nasar Hasshu, from Peterborough mail centre, is one of three programmers who developed a hugely successful game for Nintendo Switch.
It all started three years ago when Nasar’s brother Salim and friend, Nizaam got together and started talking about mobile games development.
‘None of us have any previous games industry experience so we began making simple mobile games using online tutorials to get a grasp of the development scene,’ said Nasar. ‘Fast forward 12 months and six games later and we had a game featured on the App store which gave us the green light to develop a game with much more time spent behind it.’
Nasar, Salim and Nizaam developed a 2D puzzle-based platformer concept called ‘Inops’ on a tablet, which was shown at public gaming events.
‘This was a great way to see people’s reaction and get feedback first hand,’ said Nasar. ‘The gaming community’s reaction to Inops was incredible and gave us the confidence to approach gaming giants such as XBOX, Nintendo and PlayStation.
‘Both XBOX and Nintendo agreed to allow Inops to be developed on their latest console and PlayStation are also interested.
‘Inops was literally made by three people and nothing was ever outsourced. Everything from the artwork, to the programming and music was created in-house’.
Nasar said he hopes his story will encourage people to follow their dreams and take risks even if they think it’s not possible.
‘With hard work and dedication, you can surprise yourself on what you can achieve,’ he said. ‘I would like to give special credit to my manager, Kamber Narsinh, who has been incredibly supportive both in and outside of work’.
