Double dip

Colleagues at Leicester Mail Processing Unit will be holding an Easter charity raffle on Monday 15 and Tuesday 16 April in aid of children’s charity, Healing Little Hearts.
Every year more than one million children are born with Congenital Heart Disease worldwide. Healing Little Hearts provides free life-saving heart surgery to children in the developing world.
More than 20 prizes will be up for grabs, including a four-night Pontins stay for up to six people, a one-night stay in Devon for two, a helicopter ride and two tickets to see the Leicester Tigers rugby team.
Meanwhile, a whopping £1,494 with matched giving was raised for our in-house charity, the Rowland Hill Fund, at the North West’s Long Service Awards.
Project Planning Co-ordinator Leanne Lyons and delivery area support manager Janet Sheard from Manchester Mail Centre and Hebden Bridge Delivery Office (pictured) organised a raffle at the awards, which were held at the Midland Hotel, Manchester.
Prizes included a Fitbit Blaze, his ‘n her perfumes, a paintballing experience, a professional photoshoot and a champagne gift set.
Both Leanne and Janet are North region ambassadors for the Fund, which helps colleagues, pensioners and their immediate families with financial and practical support.
‘It was a great afternoon spent with some great people, raising money for a great charity!’ said Leanne. ‘It was the perfect opportunity to raise funds and awareness with the more than 250 guests who attended. Thanks for everyone’s contributions on the day.’
The Fund distributes grants of around £400,000 to individuals and families in need every year, helping with general household items, rent, mortgage, council tax and utility bill arrears, home and heating repairs, hospital expenses and disability aids.
