Double date
UK Delivery operations director, Anton Harding, hosted Town Hall events at Salford Delivery Office and Manchester Mail Centre.
Around 40 colleagues in Salford and 60 in Manchester were given the chance to talk about the issues that matter to them. Play the video above to hear how it went.
First stop was Salford where colleagues wanted to know how we were going to manage parcels growth in the future. They voiced how we need to think differently about how we handle our parcels in local units and Anton discussed the opportunity for better indoor sorting and outdoor delivery methods.
Colleagues also wanted to hear how we can accommodate an ageing workforce given longer delivery spans and more parcels traffic. Anton stated that we want to be able to offer more flexible duty structures that might be physically easier to manage for example, Later AcceptanceTimes (LATs) parcels deliveries.
After a quick hop across the city, colleagues at Manchester were keen to hear more about our plans for parcels automation, the future of the mail centre site and how we are tackling revenue fraud.
In a lively and highly engaged session, questions also spanned vehicle emissions charges, terms and conditions and workplace culture.
