Speak Up

All colleagues should be able to raise concerns, concerns which will be listened to and acted on

As a business, we are committed to conducting business to the highest standards of honesty, integrity and openness.

If you have a concern about something you can raise it through Royal Mail’s independent and confidential whistleblowing facility, ‘Speak Up’.

Whistleblowing is the disclosure by an employee of serious malpractice, misconduct, dishonest or illegal activity of any individual or external body in Royal Mail or the Group.

Anyone can raise a concern about a wrongdoing they consider has taken place, is currently taking place, or is likely to take place in Royal Mail. We all have a duty to guard against wrongdoing, and to take care that we do not expose colleagues or company property to criminal activities or fail to comply with correct procedures by not raising concerns at the earliest possible opportunity.

Some examples of situations where you may raise a concern include:

  • Misreporting
  • Fraud
  • Giving or taking of bribes
  • Corruption
  • Health and safety
  • Financial malpractice
  • If the disclosure is in the public interest
  • Breaches of law or regulation; or
  • Potential environmental incidents/failures.

Action – if you need to report something anonymously and confidentially through Speak Up, you can call the helpline on: 0800 090 3154 or the online web-based service by clicking here. You can speak to an operator or leave a voicemail message.
