Northern Ireland mail centre say the Employee Survey is integral to their improvement plans

Colleagues at Northern Ireland mail centre have been busy acting on the feedback gained from last year’s Employee Survey, to ensure the improvements needed to processes and morale, are actioned.

‘Employee engagement is the key to unlocking the business potential,’ said plant manager, Frances Pearson. ‘Our employees are in the main, long-serving and have a vast amount of experience and knowledge of the business and the specific areas that they operate in.

‘Tapping into this can only bring new and creative ideas to further improve our processes and morale. This in itself, is what assists with the development of cultural change.’

Frances said that the tier board process they introduced to the unit last year has been a fabulous opportunity for engagement at all levels.

‘We have also started a monthly ‘Working Together’ session with the CWU to strengthen our already good relationships and help align our strategies to deliver improvement,’ she said. The Employee Survey is invaluable to the plant and is an integral part of our improvement plans.’

Speaking on the improvements they have seen as a result of the changes implemented since the 2018 Employee Survey, colleagues on the early shift, have been universal in their praise.

‘RMtv keeps getting better and better and I look forward to seeing it every week,’ said postman, Adrian Leonard.

‘Since last year, we have been having a daily huddle and our manager talks to us about improving performance,’ said postwoman, Clare Payne.

Postwoman, Roisin Coyle, said: ‘In the Tracked area, our manager listens to our feedback and makes changes to help us improve quality.’

This year's Employee Survey is now open until 15 March. Don't miss your chance to share your feedback on working at Royal Mail.
