‘A grand day out’

Did you know that the Wallace and Gromit stamps display at the Postal Museum is open until July?
The exhibit, which has been open since Christmas, features the two much-loved clay characters, Wallace and Gromit as well as a few of their friends.
Journey behind the scenes at Aardman Animations where the creative process of making the special set of Christmas stamps we released all the way back in 2010 is revealed.
From creator Nick Park’s original drawings as he experimented with revealing some of Wallace and Gromit’s Christmas traditions to the colour sketches exploring the evolution of the designs from initial concept through to the final issued stamps.
You can also gain a unique insight into the magic of Aardman via a series of production shot photographs taken from inside the studio, as well as learning about the craft of stamp design.
Remember, as part of our sponsorship deal for the Postal Museum’s Mail Rail, colleagues can book their free one-off ticket as well as unlimited visits to the museum’s galleries, which include the Wallace and Gromit display, until 1 September 2019.
The Postal Museum can be found at 15-20 Phoenix Place, London WC1X 0DA. The nearest tube stations are Farringdon, Russell Square, King’s Cross and Chancery Lane. Opening hours are 10:00-17:00.
