You’re not alone

Blues Programme students share their positive experiences of improved mental wellbeing

On Tuesday 11 December, Royal Mail held their annual Christmas reception at the House of Commons in London.

Two very brave students from Worcestershire travelled especially to London to speak about their experience of the Blues Programme.

Action for Children’s Blues Programme, funded by Royal Mail, is a preventative mental health initiative that provides early intervention support for people aged 13-19 years-old who are suffering from, or who are at risk of developing a mental health condition.

Beth and Klaudia spoke articulately in front of colleagues and MPs from across the UK, about the enormous difference the programme has personally made to their lives.

They also stressed the importance of raising awareness of the programme, to continue to help support young people in the UK who are suffering from mental health conditions.

There is a desperate need for more mental health support in schools to prevent mental health issues having a devastating and long-term impact on so many young people’s futures and ability to achieve their potential.
