Vote 100

Her positive thinking and caring, generous nature are just some of the reasons why senior property and asset leasing manager, Katy Levycky from Property and Facilities has been nominated for our Vote 100 campaign.
Paul Bridson, director, asset and estate management, said: ‘Katy has been an integral part of the Property and Facilities charitable activities over the last two years, including being part of the Project Marathon 100 fundraising, working with our chosen charity Action for Children, to paint their Bristol offices to enhance the environment for their staff and children.
‘Privately she has been involved in a River Thames bankside rubbish clearance activity. But her largest achievement in this area was being the initial and key instigator for the use of the Tetris building in Greenford to support the Grenfell Tower fire relief effort. This facility became the national centre for the sorting and storage of donations, operated by Kensington & Chelsea and The British Red Cross.
‘Katy gave a huge amount of her time even though she was getting married less than a week later. She received personal thanks from the CEO of Kensington & Chelsea Council who acknowledged that their relief efforts would not have been possible without her and Royal Mail’s support.
‘A role model for everyone, Katy has an extremely positive attitude to work and life and she really embodies our values. She is always very generous with her time to help and support others both inside and outside of work, even though she always has a project on the go.
‘Katy isn’t afraid to try new things and nothing ever appears to faze her. Her attention to detail is superb, she is extremely well organised, and her ability to build and maintain relationships across the business is excellent.
‘She is liked by everyone she deals with and her positive, friendly approach means that people are only too happy to help and support her with whatever activities she is undertaking. This is a great skill and a massive benefit to the wider team.
‘Katy has been the day-to-day lead on the Royal Mail Christmas property project for more than five years. This is a business-critical activity and without her efforts it’s hard to envisage how the project would have been as successful as it has been. Katy is regarded as Mrs Christmas by everyone within property!’
In 2009 Katy began a secondment with Royal Mail while working as a Chartered Surveyor at BNP Paribas Real Estate. ‘The initial secondment period was for three months but I ended up staying for two years,’ said Katy.
‘I was working on various project-based programmes within the Estates team, including the Christmas Acquisitions and Delivery Methods. Two delightful programmes to cut my teeth on as a young and inexperienced surveyor helped start my journey on mastering the skill of plate spinning!
‘I have been working alongside Paul as a national property asset manager and the job is still as interesting and enjoyable as it was three and half years ago. This is absolutely down to the people I work with and the wonderful complexities that only a property portfolio of the age and nature of Royal Mail’s could offer.
‘Royal Mail is unlike any other client I’ve worked with, and I mean that in a good way! There is an absolute and irrefutable dedication from everyone who goes out of their way to try to achieve the best possible outcome for the business. This outlook has helped to shape me both as a person and as a surveyor, and I aspire to provide a similar level of dedication to each project that I am involved with.’
