Parcels growth

In the nine months ended 23 December 2018, UK parcel volumes were up 6%* and the money we earn from UK parcels was also up 6%. We handled 164m parcels in the December trading period, up 10% on same period last year.

• Royal Mail domestic account parcels volumes, excluding Amazon, were up 8%, partly reflecting our increasing focus on the fast-growing clothing and footwear sector of the e-commerce market.
• Royal Mail Tracked 24®/48® and Tracked Returns® volumes grew by 24%. These are our key products to support online retail growth in the UK.
• Cross-border volumes in our international parcels business continued to grow.
