All you need is love

Love is in the air - we’re looking for Royal Mail’s most romantic couple

As we gear up towards Valentine’s Day next month, we’re asking for any couples who first set eyes on each other right here at Royal Mail, to please get in touch.

Don’t be shy – we know you’re out there. We have a surprisingly large number of colleagues who have fallen victim to Cupid’s bow over the years – couples we think might well be up for a weekend of free pampering…

Yes, we’re talking about you and all those heart-skipping shared moments swapping longing eyes over the PSM, holding hands in your shared van, or stealing a kiss while stacking your door-to-door items.

Did you know that those who meet after locking eyes over the water cooler or Mk 4 yorks are more likely to enjoy longer lasting love?

It has been estimated that up to half of us meet our future partners through or at work, which makes it a significant venue for budding romance.

There are obvious advantages to meeting your partner at work - you know you’ll have at least one thing in common, as well as an informed ear to bounce all your gripes off about lapsing when you get home after your shift.

You will no doubt have had the opportunity to study this person in depth before taking the plunge and asking them out. Better still, you'll have seen them during the day up to their ears in parcels – unless of course you’re on the night shift - rather than just propping up a bar in flattering light.

So come on, own up - did you exchange blushing smiles over an ISLM? Or perhaps you connected through a shared love of our new PDAs? If so, let us know how Royal Mail keeps your romance alive and you could be in with the chance to win a romantic one-night pamper break with dinner for two.

Our grand prize involves an escape with a loved one to one of three Hallmark Hotels for a day and night of pampering and relaxation. Enjoy a spa treatment each, a three-course dinner and to top it all off, a full English breakfast in the morning to ready you for the day ahead and the journey home.

Send your names, contact details and a brief story of how you met your partner (100 words or less) to your.news@royalmail.com by no later than 8 February to be entered into our prize draw, from which one couple will be randomly selected to win our grand prize. We’ll be contacting the couples with the most romantic stories to appear in Courier and myroyalmail.com to celebrate Valentine’s Day in February.
