Top 10 toys

It’s that kind of year when kids are eagerly awaiting their present haul on Christmas morning, having long sent off their wish list to the big man in red.
Santa’s been giving us a little insight into what was written on all those letters and after his team of Royal Mail elves carried out a mass survey of children’s festive wishes, we can now reveal this year’s top 10 most wanted presents.
The top spot goes to the Nerf Gun, followed by Lego Boost - the robot building take on the popular classic past-time.
Robots also hold third place with the Meccano MAX making its debut on the list, with technology still proving popular. Gaming also remains high on the agenda with the Nintendo Switch retaining fourth place, and the enduring love of the mystical sees the Poopsie Surprise Unicorn come in fifth.
Lego makes another appearance at number six, with mini Lego Figures. Seventh place goes to the classic version of Meccano, while the emergence of robot technology shows no sign of abating with Robo Chameleon taking eighth spot.
The popularity of TV cooking shows might be responsible for a Kitchen Set coming in at number nine while creative minds place Playdoh in tenth spot.
Royal Mail Chief Elf, Axelle Galera, who has the important task of ensuring children’s letters reach Reindeerland at the North Pole, said: ‘Royal Mail plays a special part at Christmas. We are proud that for 55 years Santa has allowed us to help manage the thousands and thousands of special letters he receives from boys and girls across the UK.
‘His special team of elves at Royal Mail enjoy taking a peek at what children are asking for, and helping Santa deliver gifts that make dreams come true.’
