Thinking outside the box

While out delivering his festive mailbag, postman Leigh Stanley, from Tweedale delivery office, came up with the genius idea to build a special postbox specifically designed for letters to Santa.
It took him a few hours to build during the week, but once it was ready, collections supervisor, Yvonne Joyce, suggested setting the box up in the caller’s office, so that young customers could post their Christmas wishes, confident in the knowledge that our team of elves would deliver them safely to the big man in red.
‘Everyone in our delivery office liked the idea,’ said postman, Howard de Winton. ‘Delivery office manager, John Smith thought so too and gave the all clear to put the box in the office.
‘The postbox was only in the caller’s office for a few days but word soon got round and the box was very quickly full of letters for Santa.
