Helping the homeless

Patrick and Veronica have been out delivering warmth to London’s rough sleepers

Delivery line manager, Patrick McKenna and cleaner, Veronica Hubbard from Wimbledon delivery office have been out helping the homeless in London.

Pat collected a large number of clothing donations from friends and colleagues. The clothes were then stuffed inside a van before the two headed into central London in the early afternoon.

‘We travelled around London’s streets targeting train stations and famous roads and anywhere we could get the van to.

‘This is the first time I have done such a thing and it was such an amazing experience to know we were helping with keeping homeless people warm at this time of year.

‘The people we met were some of the nicest, most polite and grateful people we had ever met - people who have very sadly lost their way in life. We left each and every person we spoke to happier and more importantly, warmer.

‘We both thoroughly enjoyed doing this knowing we were making a difference. We had a vehicle full to begin with and when we got back to the office in the evening, there was nothing left!’
