Dream team

The team at Reading East have come up trumps and won the first of our giant Christmas cards for their outstanding Tracked performance.
Giant Christmas cards are being awarded to units with more than 5,000 Tracked items, based on their previous week’s Tracked performance. Reading East delivered an amazing 99.66% Tracked.
Reading East delivery line manager, Alan West, was put in charge of Tracked and performance when he joined the office two years ago. ‘The results were good but not reaching 95% regularly,’ he said.
‘So firstly, I tackled the big hitters and reduced the defects. Then I started producing a league table of the best and worst scanners. This started a healthy bit of competition in the office. Where there were issues, I used the daily huddles with line manager, Jack Heffer to let people know what was expected.
‘With help from the One Plan team and delivery office manager, Dan Harvey, we changed the layout and feel of the office, reduced clutter and brought about a sense of pride in the office.
‘I can’t thank the staff enough for their work. It’s a real honour to be line manager there. The credit must go to them as they have and continue to work really hard. I also have to make a special mention of the world’s best workplace coach, Tanya Butler, who is an inspiration.
Reading East postman, Simon Tye, said: ‘There has been a real change here since this managerial team came in a few years ago. They make things clear and manage in a way not seen here before.
‘We all strive to be the best we can be and we really take really pride in our work.’
Meanwhile, Worksop and Barry delivery offices have each been awarded giant Christmas cards after scoring 99.82% and 99.73% respectively.
