One more parcel per walk

Why First Time Delivery is good for our customers, for us and for our business

Our big focus this year is on delivering our customer’s promises.

Customers want to receive their items first time, on time and in a convenient way.

At a unit level, we only want to handle customer’s parcels once - reducing redelivery work and overloading our customer service points with parcels for collection.

What do we need you to do?

Can you deliver one more parcel first time each day everyday throughout the peak period? In one day, if every postman or woman brought back one LESS parcel that would equate to:

  • 87,000 parcels per day not needing to be handled again
  • 87,000 parcels per day we wouldn’t need to redeliver or
  • 87,000 less people visiting a customer service point each day to collect
  • 87,000 more happy customers who get their parcels when they want them.

If every postman and postwoman did this on every walk then we would see a significant improvement in our workload, our complaints and our quality of service.

Remember

  • Check your walk log before you leave on delivery to ensure nominated neighbour instructions are actioned
  • Utilise Delivery to Neighbour and Safeplace wherever possible to achieve this – making sure you use your PDA to photograph the secure nominated Safeplace locations and recording details on your cards clearly and legibly.
