The jab’s a good ‘un
This year, Royal Mail is offering all colleagues the opportunity to receive a free flu inoculation at a Lloyds Pharmacy.
Influenza (flu) is one of our highest causes of absence during the winter months.
Dr Shaun Davis, director of safety, health, wellbeing and sustainability, said: ‘The health and wellbeing of our employees is important. Flu is a contagious virus that can leave those who catch it very unwell. I recommend that all colleagues consider taking up this free health benefit to help maintain good health during the autumn and winter months.'
Vouchers are included with the September edition of Courier and you can get your free inoculation by presenting the voucher with your Royal Mail ID card, at any branch of Lloyds Pharmacy.
The inoculation is available until 31 December 2018. Colleagues are advised to have their jab as early as possible before the virus spreads in the autumn and winter months.
Please ensure you check if you are eligible to receive a NHS flu jab first. These are given if you are pregnant, receive a carer's allowance, are the main carer for an elderly or disabled person whose welfare may be at risk if you fall ill, or if you have certain medical conditions.
Note: Where the distance between your home and the nearest branch of Lloyds Pharmacy exceeds 15 miles, your manager will be able to authorise use of another high street pharmacy up to a maximum cost of £15.
