A fine fifty

Five decades of friendship and camaraderie

A former telegraph boy says it is the friendship and camaraderie with his colleagues that he will miss the most after he retired from a 50-year career with Royal Mail in August.

David Brunge who worked at Ashford delivery office, said his biggest regret from the five decades he was with Royal Mail is not keeping a complete photographic record of all the changes he witnessed.

‘A young lady started here recently and I’d previously worked with her dad, and her grandad before that,’ said David.

‘The best part of the job is being out on the streets and interacting with the public. Building a relationship with customers is so important.’
