Vote 100

Dealing with complex subject matter with humour and a smile is just one reason why Business Solutions Lead Marilyn Sheehan has been nominated for our Vote 100 campaign.
Chief data officer Robert Kent, said: ‘Marilyn has been working on the PDA Outdoor Actuals programme since its inception.
‘This is one of the truly first agile and advanced analytical projects, at scale, that has seen excellent collaboration between central and frontline operations, Technology and GBI. The programme has delivered the data and the ability to provide valuable insights through the visibility of outdoor workload to delivery units on a daily basis. This has been complex to achieve and has involved applying advanced analytical techniques.
‘In every sense, Marilyn has been the face of a programme of firsts.
‘Marilyn takes everything in her stride, while maintaining a high level of diligent professionalism. She is active in the Women’s London network and does all she can to promote women in the workplace.
‘I think Marilyn is an excellent role model to the women in IT and anyone - male or female - who comes in to contact with her.’
‘I like change and the challenges it brings,’ said Marilyn. ‘This was one of the main things that attracted me to Royal Mail Group. Having worked for the last three years in the data group I’ve seen a lot of change, as well as opportunities to use data to push the business forward – something I have a real drive to be a part of.
‘Despite having to navigate a number of complex areas, I feel it is always important to maintain a positive attitude so that we find a way through for a successful outcome as a team.
‘Getting involved in leading the London Women’s network is something I’m passionate about too. I work to provide support, make connections and develop people. This helps to enable a more diverse and inclusive working environment, which ultimately results in a better place to work and a better business too!’
