We Are Royal Mail

Lynn Davies is a postwoman at Warrington mail centre, where she works in revenue protection.
She first joined the company 16 years ago and has seen her role develop significantly over that time. She is now part of a team responsible for ensuring that Royal Mail is paid correctly for the services it provides.
Lynn’s typical day will start by surcharging customers who have not paid the right amount for Royal Mail products. She will then move on to sampling mail, checking that all items collected have been paid for correctly. Lynn, along with the rest of her team, will also work hard to spot fraudulent activity in the region.
It’s a varied role, and one that Lynn says demands an in-depth knowledge of Royal Mail and its ever-changing product offerings.
‘It’s vital you keep up-to-date with all the different Royal Mail services,’ she said. ‘It’s changing all the time, and it’s my job to keep on top of that.’
Lynn enjoys her job, and credits that to the relationship she has with her fellow colleagues.
‘I love the camaraderie,’ she said. ‘I’ve made some great friends here and we all work well together.’
Working well with your colleagues is important throughout the company, and it’s no different in revenue protection.
‘Teamwork is so important here, to make sure the job is done efficiently and to the best of our abilities,’ said Lynn. ‘As part of a 17-person team, we all need to be able to take instruction and communicate effectively.’
