Slipping clutch?
Report it to a workshop and avoid a breakdown

We are suffering an increasing number of breakdowns due to worn clutches. Since April, 437 potentially avoidable clutch issues have cost Royal Mail £53,000 in call-outs alone.
Not repairing a clutch when it starts slipping can also lead to additional repairs and more hire costs while waiting for recovery.
How do you know a clutch is slipping?
- A higher bite point occurring when you lift your foot off the pedal
- The rev counter shows disproportionately high revs in relation to vehicle speed when driving off from a stand still
- Your vehicle struggles to drive up inclines and slows even though you are using more throttle, or the engine revs increase without increasing speed
- There is an acrid smell of burning when any of the above occur.
All drivers must check for any of the above signs and report them to your manager. Please display this poster on your noticeboards.
