Manchester colleagues pull out all the stops in Tough Mudder challenge

Royal Mail colleagues donned their sports gear to take part in a Tough Mudder course in Manchester earlier this month.

The spirited ‘Royal Mudders’ braved the elements to raise cash for our in-house charity, the Rowland Hill Fund (RHF).

The Fund has provided financial help to colleagues past and present in need of assistance since the reign of Queen Victoria.

Leanne Lyons, project planning co-ordinator at Manchester mail centre and RHF’s lead ambassador for the north said: ‘We had a few drop outs along the way and Paula Edge, from Manchester mail centre, filled a place the day before.

‘It was a real challenge for most of us, but we all thoroughly enjoyed it. It was 5k with obstacles along the way including a two-storey climbing net we had to get over (very high when you’re up there), a human pyramid scheme - which really needed a lot of team work - and bear-crawling under barbed wire

‘The current figure raised is £750 (with matched giving) and we are looking forward to our next event, which will be a Spinathon in Manchester mail centre in October.’
