Dumfries delivers

Dumfries delivery office has set the bar high after colleagues achieved an excellent success rate on doorstep scanning with their PDAs.
Delivery office manager David Turner said: ‘Our expectation is that all items posted receive some sort of confirmation as to whether we’ve delivered it or left a card. We have made significant improvement in our scanning rate.’
Better communication has been key to the team’s success.
Regular briefings of the team, the use of workplace coaches, and one-to-one training sessions have improved both morale and performance and the team as a whole is working more effectively.
‘We’ve kept the whole team involved as we’ve progressed and we continue to do so – that keeps performance foremost in everyone’s mind,’ said David. ‘It’s a very good team and we’ve an open and honest way of working.’
Postman Ross Corbett said: ‘Daily communication between all colleagues is good and has made a big difference.
‘I’ve been here for 30 years and there were a couple of rough years, but now I’m really enjoying working here again.’
David added: ‘The most important part of my week is my worktime listening and learning briefing session.
‘We share our statistics and identify people we want to congratulate – those who are achieving 100% on a regular basis.’
