Byte Night 2018

Graham Davis joins Action for Children’s Byte Night Board as National Chair

As we enter Byte Night’s 21st year, our charity partner, Action for Children, was absolutely delighted to welcome director of sales and channels Graham Davis as National Chair of the event.

Action for Children approached Graham because of our joint partnership which funds the Blues Programme, a preventative course aimed at people aged 13-19 years-old who are suffering from, or who are at risk of developing, a mental health disorder.

Byte Night is the UK’s largest corporate ‘sleep-out’ event, with individuals and teams from a wide range of businesses sleeping rough for one night to raise vital funds to prevent youth homelessness.

‘You may not be aware, but there is a strong link between mental health and homelessness,’ said Graham. ‘One in four young homeless people are suffering from a diagnosed mental health condition.

‘This clearly illustrates the devastating impact poor mental health can have on their lives and how poor mental health is part and parcel of the reason so many young people become homeless. Hopefully, the funds raised will have a tremendous impact.’

Last year saw the event reach an incredible milestone having raised more than £10 million since the inaugural event back in 1998. This year, Byte Night is even bigger and better than ever, having added the Yorkshire event to the portfolio.

Byte Night relies on the dedication, passion and hard work of its Chairs and board members and Action for Children are thrilled to be welcoming Graham to the team.

Graham will be sleeping out in Birmingham for his first Byte Night on Friday 5 October. With colleagues already confirmed in London and Cardiff too, why not join him and sign up to your nearest Byte Night event to help give young people a safe and happy future.
