Vote 100

We’ve had an amazing response to our Vote 100 campaign so far so please keep your nominations coming in. Over the next few months we will continue to profile 100 female colleagues who embody our values and demonstrate how Royal Mail Group can be a fantastic place for women to excel.
This week we profile delivery change lead, Rebecca Nunn, from Norwich delivery office.
Delivery product deployment manager – East, Gary May, said: ‘Apart from doing her day job, which includes coaching delivery office managers, and line managing colleagues in delivery units across Anglia and South Midlands Rebecca has a strong passion for helping and supporting people.
She is the lead for the diversity and inclusion forum for central planning and programmes and regularly contributes and takes part in any activities. She supported January’s Diversity Week by helping to write an article on disability and mental health for their newsletter.
‘Rebecca is also our lead for the Employee Survey group, and has been involved with the central planning and programmes group at various meetings throughout the year. She coordinates our activities in the team, sends out progress reports and provides us with updates from the national group.
‘If all of this wasn’t enough, outside the business she chairs the parents fundraising association at her son’s school. I’m not sure where she gets the energy!
‘Rebecca has the respect from all of our team for the tremendous effort she puts in and from the delivery office teams she works with. She is a role model for any women working in programmes as she is often the lone representative in quite a male-dominated part of the business.’
Head of delivery product deployment – Barry Parkins, said: ‘Rebecca is one of those individuals that every senior leader wants within their teams. When I first picked up my role in April 2017 one of my first calls was from Rebecca offering support to get the new area I had picked up set up and also assist me with my knowledge gaps.
‘Rebecca has been a key player in my top team assisting me with governance and team development and she has done all of this as well as her day job. She has a real can-do attitude but also has the skill to be able to bring people along the journey with her. I have the privilege of being Rebecca’s mentor and she is an absolute joy to work with. She also has the drive and determination to succeed within the company and I have no doubt that she has the values and skills the business is looking for in their future senior leaders.’
‘I started at Royal Mail 15 years ago as a part-time postwoman in Norwich mail processing unit,’ said Rebecca. ‘One year later I became full-time as the delivery office manager support.
‘In 2010 I had my son Noah and went on six months maternity leave. When I returned in 2011 World Class Mail had just been introduced to deliveries. I went for the role of World Class Mail champion support for the Norwich sector and was successful.
‘It was my first manager’s role in the business and in a project role. I had a very supportive line manager, Rebecca Lomax, who supported and developed me over the following two years and gave me the foundations I work from today.
‘I am now currently a delivery change lead for One Plan and I absolutely love my job, coaching and supporting other managers to maintain standards and processes within their units. I also get to engage with frontline colleagues as well. It’s always a pleasure to see how the improvements are affecting them.
‘I am the lead for the Employee Survey and for diversity for our wider team which I receive great personal satisfaction from. To see the actions from our teams’ action plans make such a difference to people’s work life is amazing. I love the people side of my role.’
