The night stuff

Night workers’ health assessment

Two weeks ago we launched the annual night workers’ health assessment for all colleagues who work at least three hours between 23.00 and 06.00.

All night workers should this week receive a questionnaire sent to home addresses with a set of questions designed to gain information around some of the common health conditions that affect night shift workers.

For anyone who identifies having any of these conditions it does not necessarily mean they are unsuitable for night work. A night worker health assessment will identify any risk factors associated with the condition(s) and then allow advice to be obtained on how to manage them effectively.

Both the CWU and Unite CMA unions are supporting this and encouraging everyone to complete the questionnaire.

Please encourage any night workers in your teams to complete the questionnaire and return to OH Assist, RMG NWA Department, 2 Meadowcourt, Hayland Street, SHEFFIELD, S9 1BY by no later than 20 August 2018.

For anyone who doesn’t receive a questionnaire, a copy can be accessed here for you to print and hand out.
