Mark’s top tips

Mark hopes his action plan will deliver sustained improved performance

We are fast approaching the time when all units need to have their action plans uploaded to the 2018 Archway platform. In light of this, here are some tops tips for completing your plans.

Delivery office manager Mark Thomas and the team at Chippenham delivery office achieved a huge improvement in the engagement index moving from 34% to 60%. This is a fantastic achievement particularly as the management team remained unchanged during this time.

Top tips:

  • Keep your plan simple and ensure that engagement is at the heart of your everyday interactions
  • Involve your union rep from the outset in the planning and make sure your weekly resource meetings are robust
  • Utilise your workplace coaches – this will give you free time to engage with your team
  • Make time for your people and follow up (while managing expectations)
  • Take pictures to remind your team of what you have achieved throughout the year.

If you do have any issues with Archway or the action planning process, please contact your people business partner. There is also a helpful video for you to follow on Archway as well as a pocket guide to action planning sent to all managers at the end of May.

Use your results and action planning board to bring your plans alive and ensure they are visible to everyone in your teams. Complete, display and communicate the outputs from the survey and your agreed actions on the board and then upload them to the Archway platform – this can now be done simply by taking a photograph and uploading.
