Fantastic fundraisers

Rowland Hill Fund celebrates its champions

Supporters of our in-house charity, the Rowland Hill Fund, have celebrated a fantastic year of fundraising at a special event.

Ambassadors, volunteers and beneficiaries of the charity gathered for the event in London, where awards were handed out by Fund manager Mary Jeffery and Shaun Davis, director of safety, health, wellbeing and sustainability. You can watch a video from the event below.

In the last financial year, 420 colleagues have been helped by the Fund, with half a million pounds given in donations, while £145,000 has been raised – the charity’s highest ever amount in one year.

Mary said: ‘We want to give more money to those colleagues who really need it. We’re trying to raise awareness and profile of the work we do so that more and more people ask for help and we need more people to raise funds for us.’

Postman Nigel Dye, from St Helens delivery office, shared the support that he and his son Joshua have received from the charity.

Joshua, who is 12, has cerebral palsy and has been provided with two custom-moulded ‘P’ Pod chairs to allow him to sit comfortably and safely, despite physical conditions including a curvature to his spine.

‘It’s fantastic, we can’t thank the Fund enough for what it has done for us,’ said Nigel.
