Celebrating our amazing women – Olaide Rokosu-Euzebio

We’ve had an amazing response to our Vote 100 campaign so far so please keep your nominations coming in. Over the next few months we will continue using them to profile 100 female colleagues who embody our values and demonstrate how Royal Mail Group can be a fantastic place for women to excel.

This week we profile senior programme and project management (PPM) officer, Olaide Rokosu-Euzebio from the Centre of Excellence.

Senior PPM officer, Lilly Sautter, said: ‘I first met Ola three years ago when she had just joined the Operations programme management office as reporting manager. This was Ola’s first managerial role. Previously she had been working for Romec as a receptionist at our Farringdon office in London.

‘I was impressed when I heard about the determination Ola had shown to progress in her career. She told me that when she realised that she wanted more from her job she re-evaluated her career and thought about what she really wanted to achieve.

‘She completed a Prince 2 Foundation course and a course at the Institute of Leadership Management, which gave her the skills to apply successfully for a managerial role, and she has been doing very well in managerial roles since. In addition to her work she is also very active in the Finance BAME steering group.

‘Ola is highly respected by her colleagues because she always shows optimism and determination to succeed. She always sees the positive side of a challenge overcomes obstacles and strives to improve her. Ola is a pleasure to work with because she is so supportive and will go above and beyond to help her colleagues in any way she can.’

Olaide started with Royal Mail in 2011 working with the Facilities strand of Romec, which is now Property & Facilities Solutions. ‘I fell in love with the business for two main reasons;’ she said, ‘the huge opportunity it has to offer and the passion within the company to develop its women and ensure more female colleagues rise up to managerial roles using for example, the Springboard platform.

‘I work in a challenging projects and programmes environment that contributes to the business, its people, shareholders and customers. It is an environment where high value is placed on the quality of work that you do in support of the team as this could have a great impact on the team’s output.

‘Customer satisfaction is very important to me so I take my stakeholders’ needs seriously and also take into account their feedback on every occasion. There are undoubtedly challenges but I am proud of how far I have come - I couldn’t have done it without the available support scheme for women.

This is my third year in a managerial role and I have shared and will continue to share my journey with as many women as I can. There is so much to be achieved if you are up for the challenge. My mantra is always: “You are the only one who can stop you”’.
