Vote 100

Celebrating our amazing Royal Mail women – Catherine Wright

We’ve had an amazing response to our Vote 100 campaign so far so please keep your nominations coming in. Over the next few months we will be using them to profile 100 female colleagues who embody our values and demonstrate how Royal Mail can be a fantastic place for women to excel.

This week we profile postwoman Catherine Wright from Wolverhampton delivery office.

Delivery line manager Paul Jeffryes from North West Midlands mail centre, said: ‘I would like to nominate Catherine Wright who has been with the business for six months and has shown great organisational skills and a fantastic work ethic.

‘Catherine has come into the business from the prison service with a can-do attitude. Every delivery she goes on, she will make maps and really get into the detail of the delivery rather than going into it blind.

‘She will always come up with a solution to a problem and resolve it rather than walk away from it. She has already earned the respect from other managers and colleagues who have worked with her and I’m sure she will be a shining light within this unit.’

‘Starting at Royal mail in December last year meant beginning my new job working in tough weather conditions,’ said Catherine. ‘But as I love the outdoors and walking in all weathers, the job has suited me perfectly so far.

‘I really enjoy dealing with any challenges thrown my way and I feel a great sense of achievement when challenges are met.’
