Manchester leading the way on Red X recoveries

Good communication, engagement and a watchful eye on customers’ account mail are proving a recipe for success when it comes to combating fraud at Manchester mail centre.

Enabling the requested mail to be sampled has led to sizeable recoveries – including a massive £10,000 in just one week from Manchester North delivery office.

‘Since getting the buy-in from all operational areas (Process, Collections & Delivery), extracting Red X mail to revenue protection (RP) for sampling has improved steadily at Manchester mail centre,’ said John Littler, Manchester revenue protection manager.

Manchester is also trialling a new process which separates weekly recoveries from Red X customers down to hubs – and this information is being shared with all units and at pipeline meetings so that all colleagues understand any issues that may be impacting unit compliance.

‘We are pleased to see the unit results displayed for everyone to see, it gives us confidence to further Red X customers knowing RP is sampling and making substantial recoveries,’ said Gary Cowie, a collection driver at Manchester North delivery office.

‘All the drivers are now talking about Red X and the recoveries we are seeing in the north,’ added Stuart Daniels, Manchester North delivery office manager.

‘The engagement has been very effective in our unit.’
