Peak performance

Colleagues from Group Legal have raised a stunning £9,000 for the Rowland Hill Fund by completing the Peak District Three Peaks Challenge.
An intrepid team of 33 colleagues, their friends and family, as well as lawyers from CMS Cameron McKenna - one of our external law firms, took on the epic challenge, which involves a tough 24-mile hike over 11 hours, navigating up (and back down) the summits of Black Hill, Bleaklow and Kinder Scout.
Senior legal advisor Rina Newman said: ‘It was a really gruelling day in the glorious Peak District sunshine, but 11 hours later the challengers made it to the finish in Edale, where they were had a well-deserved pint!
‘It was a great team-building experience and very rewarding for all involved, but most importantly a huge amount of money was raised for our in-house charity, the Rowland Hill Fund.
‘Sponsorship is still rolling in but the final amount raised from the walk and the two cake sales that were held in our Pond Street office in Sheffield in the lead up to the challenge, is expected to be well in excess of £9,000, including gift aid.
‘Thank you very much to everyone who participated in the adventure, and to all those who kindly sponsored the team. Thank you also to Pete Henley from Nottingham North delivery office, who took a day of leave to support the challenge by providing refreshments and encouragement throughout the day!’
Helping our own
The Rowland Hill Fund helps colleagues both past and present when they find themselves struggling financially. In 2017-2018, the Fund gave £500,000 to our people, helping them with council tax arrears, medical expenses, disability aids, funeral expenses, household items and more - issues that can affect all of us at any point in our lives.
