Making a splash

Delivering with Pride in Northern Ireland

Royal Mail has adopted the Pride rainbow on one of our Belfast trucks to support colleagues and the LGBT+ community in Northern Ireland.

The Pride-themed truck, which will be used to deliver mail from Belfast mail centre to delivery offices all across Northern Ireland, is the second fully customised Pride-liveried lorry we now own.

Our Pride trucks are a symbol of Royal Mail’s belief that every employee should be free to be themselves. Supporting Pride is another way we can celebrate our differences, reflect the communities we serve and promote Royal Mail as an equal opportunities employer and a true champion of LGBT+ colleagues and the wider LGBT+ community.

Northern Ireland mail centre manager Mark Aspden, said: ‘We are delighted to support LGBT+ colleagues and bring the rainbow truck to Northern Ireland to help us deliver the mail in a unique way.’

Lyanne Maclean, chair of our LGBT+ steering group, said: ‘Well done to everyone who helped get our second truck. It looks brilliant and is bound to make a splash. Roll on pride in Belfast!’

As one of the UK’s largest employers, we are committed to putting equality and diversity at the heart of our business. This year, we are once again taking part in the Pride in London parade, as well as Black Pride London and Pride events in Belfast and Leeds.

All Royal Mail colleagues and their friends and family are invited to celebrate the below Pride events on behalf of the company:

  • London – 7 July
  • Black Pride London – 8 July
  • Belfast – 4 August
  • Leeds – 5 August
