This week is Carers Week 2019, an annual campaign driven by leading UK charities and organisations to raise awareness of the incredible work carers do, highlight the challenges unpaid carers face and recognise the contribution they make to families and communities across the UK.

Hive Link is their new smart caring service that uses plugs and sensors to help carers and their families stay connected, helping people look after their loved ones from wherever they are so that they can stay independent for longer.

How Hive Link works

Hive Link uses smart sensors and plugs that work quietly in the background of your loved one’s home, using pattern detection to get to know their daily routine. If they spot anything out of the ordinary, such as the front door being left open, Hive Link will send you a notification so that you can check in and make sure everything’s ok. You can also simply check in from anywhere through the activity log on the Hive app.
