Amanda Allbrighton + Wakefield Claims Team
CUSTOMER EXCELLENCE WINNER 2011

The team have been nominated by one of their colleagues for the way they have turned around the way they handle complaints. In 2009, complaints were ‘literally falling off the shelves’. After installing a new processing package the team faced numerous teething problems with the new process. 

Not to be defeated, people took work home in the evenings and weekends to overcome the issues. Today, the backlog is no more and complaints are now process they day they are received.

Michael Crawford
COMMUNITY CHAMPION WINNER 2011

Michael has fostered children with disabilities for years, taking them for a few weeks to enable their parents some respite. The children range from young to teenage depending who needs care at the time.

Michael has two children of his own, living in a three bedroom house. His children often have to sleep on camp beds whilst the children are in his care. Michael does all of this, as well as getting up at 5.30am to carry out his full time job as a postman.

Elizabeth Blair
BEST COLLEAGUE WINNER 2011

Elizabeth was nominated because she is “one of the most caring and considerate people you could meet”. When one of her team became ill, forcing them to take early retirement, Elizabeth gave them a week’s holiday at her apartment in Turkey to aid their recovery.

When another colleague was diagnosed with cancer, Elizabeth again went above and beyond, regularly visiting her colleague, doing their shopping and taking them to hospital. Elizabeth is also a massive support in work, helping colleagues who are struggling with their workloads and even staying late to get the job done.
