Aimie Jackson
CUSTOMER EXCELLENCE WINNER 2010

Aimie Jackson, advanced customer advisor in the commercial team at Royal Mail Letters, won her Customer Excellence award for leading by example in resolving customers’ enquiries and recouping millions of pounds in potential lost revenue for the business.

She has worked tirelessly over the last year to improve our relationship with customers, helping to retain customers and build strong relationships with new ones.

Mal McGovern
COMMUNITY CHAMPION WINNER 2010

A Northern Ireland postman was the winner of the Community Champion award, for raising an impressive £400,000 for good causes in his community, including a children’s hospice, and has inspired colleagues to do the same.

Mal McGovern supports numerous local and national charities, and has done some great work for the Northern Ireland Children’s Hospice, where he has been a carer in the past. He recently helped build a peace garden for their use.

To raise money Mal set up the Penny Black Club at the Mail Centre six years ago.

“Mal really gets the team going and is a great ambassador for Royal Mail in Belfast. He works unselfishly for the benefit of others either less fortunate or recently bereaved. No charity event is the same without him – whether he is raising money or being a Santa for the hospice children and making them smile. Bob Powner
BEST COLLEAGUE WINNER 2010

A colleague who recouped millions in lost pounds, a manager who helped local unemployed people find work with us, and a fundraiser who helped raise over £400,000 for good causes make up the worthy winners of this year’s Chairman’s Awards.

Bob Powner, national hub manager at Parcelforce Worldwide Coventry Hub was the recipient of the Best Colleague award.

Bob spotted an opportunity to help local unemployed people, and those with learning difficulties, find work at Parcelforce Worldwide.

Through working with equal opportunities agency Remploy, Bob has made it possible for dozens of people to find work.

“Bob has taken it on his own back to help the less fortunate amongst us get back into the workplace, and now has 15 individuals from Remploy working in the Coventry Hubs. I think it’s stirling work, and his colleagues think he is a role model.” - Alex Stables, Head of Hubs.
