- Always use your posting peg where you know there is a dog present at the address.
- Look for signs of dogs such as dog toys, dog mess, warning signs etc.
- Rattle a gate or call out before entering the premises with a known dog.
- When delivering parcels or signed for items with a known dog:
- As the customer approaches the door announce who you are to the customer.
- Ask the customer to put their dog away before they open the door.
- Step back from the door to a safe distance to create a space between you and the door.
- Do not pass the item into the customer/dogs’ space.
