Advice from Stoke

Postie duo reflect on suffering dog attacks

Even dogs who have been welcoming in the past can bite, writes Paul Smith.

That’s the message from Stoke postman, Lee Turner, who suffered an attack at a property he’d delivered to many times before with no issues from the dogs.

It’s Dog Awareness Week and we’re highlighting the importance of our AVOID message and sharing stories from our colleagues to help others suffering harm.

Press play to hear Lee and fellow Stoke-on-Trent Delivery Office postie, Lisa Pepper, discuss attacks they have suffered and the advice they have.

‘You just need to be aware that even when dogs are friendly they can turn,’ says Lee. ‘Even if you’ve got dogs on delivery that have been hospitable with you in the past, it doesn’t mean they always are going to be so caution needs to be had.’
